FINALLY SOMETHING ABOUT BRAZIL’S SITUATION ON MY DASHBOARD
WE’RE LIVING A REVOLUTION! WE’VE BEEN IN AN ALMOST CIVIL WAR STATE FOR TWO WEEKS! WHAT THE HELL, FOREIGNERS? TALK ABOUT US!
Why isn’t this shit on the new in America tho. Like the fuck I didn’t even know this shit was going on. But what’s the whole protest and marching about anyway? Details people
They’re marching about how new laws are giving politicians even more power than before to take money away from their people. They’re marching because of the money going towards the stadiums for the World Cup and Olympics while their education and health systems suffer. They wants change, and goddamn it’s about time they get it.That stadium is also being built on indigenous people’s land, where they were housed and everything and the Brazilian government forcibly removed said indigenous peoples and bulldozed everything.

A very good definition of privilege.
The thing about privilege, for anyone who has it, is that they can live their entire lives completely unaware of it, which is something people without privilege can’t do.
Unfortunately, one of the definitions of privilege is that there’s really not a lot you can do about it. You’re born white, or male, and that’s just the way things went for you. And so, in the same way that there’s not much logic in being proud of being a man, or proud of being white, there is not much sense in being ashamed of being a man, or ashamed of being white.
It’s always good to be aware of your situation, and how it relates to the situations of others, but when you are being attacked for things that are outside your control, when you are being attacked for your biological sex, or your race, you know, fuck that.
TL;DR It seems obvious to me that privilege exists. Weaponizing it will help no one.
